Nigeria is the Best- Akopwene Sophia Notor

I was taking a shower this morning when it suddenly hit meet that Life is like standing in line,  every individual has their day, sometimes breakthrough starts from the beginning of the line, sometimes in the middle, sometimes at the end of the line or can even be shared between a person at the front with someone at the middle or end of the line. Web should never dwell on the delays of life, instead focus on what we have in hand like the saying goes "a bird in hand is far better than a thousand in the bush". Nigeria is a country, hours and mine, we know she isn't running like a well oiled machine right now but its a place Nigerians all over the world call home. We are 53 years now, I took note that on that day so many people were upset, they complained of no jobs, no security, no steady water or electricity, food prices soar everyday, the government is bad etc but in all this we are alive. I asked some persons: why complain?
Why not do something about it? And their reply was "who am I to change Nigeria? What Cavan someone like me possibly do? Or why should I stress myself for a country that has done nothing for me? These are all good questions but then I remember my lecturer in school Mr. Tunde Williams always said "change does not come without a struggle because for one to be free, you must first fight for your freedom". I agree with him totally and completely, we compare Nigeria to America every time we talk about out country, it took America years after the war of the north and the south, and apart from that the war of colonization with the French on the 4th of July, 1776 which currently makes America 234 years old, son why compare a tender old child like Nigeria who has seen nothing to an Great great great grand father as America. Please I beg us as Nigerians to please be patient and give us a chance to make our mistakes and learn from them, for there is no place like home. Happy Independence Nigeria, I believe in you and so should you all.
