Jose Mourinho has hinted that he could snub a much-talked-about return to Chelsea in the summer in favour of a switch to French moneybags Paris Saint-Germain.
Mourinho, who is widely expected to quit Real Madrid at the end of the season, has long been linked with a return to Chelsea having admitted last week that his next job will be in England.
However, speaking this week amid increased speculation about his future, Mourinho is refusing to rule out signing a bumper contract at Ligue 1 side PSG instead.
‘It’s a possibility,’ said Mourinho when asked about PSG.
‘I don’t know when, I can’t say when, but why not?’
It is thought PSG are ready to go all out to recruit Mourinho, with Carlo Ancelotti likely to be dispensed of despite the club heading for their first French league title in nearly 10 years.
That news would be a threat to Chelsea, who despite reportedly being keen on hiring the Portuguese to replace interim boss Rafa Beniez, they would not be willing to put together a financial package anything like Qatari-owned PSG.
Mourinho is expected to announce his next move at the end of the season.
